When viewing the Technical Program schedule, on the far righthand side is a column labeled "PLANNER." Use this planner to build your own schedule. Once you select an event and want to add it to your personal schedule, just click on the calendar icon of your choice (outlook calendar, ical calendar or google calendar) and that event will be stored there. As you select events in this manner, you will have your own schedule to guide you through the week.
Efficient Datarace Detection in a Structured Programming Language
SESSION: ACM Student Research Competition Poster Reception
EVENT TYPE: ACM Student Research Competition Posters, ACM Student Research Competition
TIME: 5:15PM - 7:00PM

ABSTRACT:
Datarace detection is increasingly important in Computer Science as non-specialized computer scientists are required to write more parallel programs for better performance. Be- cause dataraces are an extremely common bug, detection of these conflicts is a necessary debugging tool. Unfortunately discovering dataraces is computationally expensive. How- ever, semantics guarantees provided by structured paral- lelism make it possible to create an efficient solution. To this end, we look to expand the race detector in the structured language, Habanero Java (HJ). Building upon HJs current race detector, which supports async/finish constructs and isolated regions, this research theoretically extends HJs al- gorithm to include the phaser construct.
