When viewing the Technical Program schedule, on the far righthand side is a column labeled "PLANNER." Use this planner to build your own schedule. In this talk, I will trace my involvement with high-performance computing and parallel programming over the last 25 years. I will relate my experience with the challenges of developing computer architectures and system software to make parallelism easy to use for application software developers. I will touch on message passing machines, the genesis of chip-multiprocessors (CMP), speculative parallelism, commercial throughput processor design, and my most recent work in domain specific programming languages for parallelism
